Police are guarding the scene of a suspicious garage fire in Queenstown.

Crisis administrations were called to the blast on Anderson Heights at 2.26am on Wednesday.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand representative Andrew Norris said the carport, which was perceived to be joined to a line of pads, was well burning when three teams from Queenstown showed up.

He said the fire made moderate harm the carport, however groups had the option to prevent the fire from spreading to the close by pads.

They had the fire doused without further ado before 3am.

Norris said the fire was being treated as dubious and an agent had been advised.

A police scene monitor was additionally at the scene soon after 7am, he said.

Later on Wednesday morning, two groups from Christchurch focal were called to a dubious blast at a tire shop off Linwood Ave.

Norris said the teams found a little fire consuming in the shop soon after 6am.

The teams had the fire doused on appearance and the harm was accepted to be insignificant.
