Updated: 6:14am – A person has died in a crash between a car and a cattle truck near Rotorua – the second fatal crash on that stretch of road yesterday.
Police said the crash happened at about 4.30pm near the junction of State Highways 5 and 28.

SH5 is currently closed between Tapapa and Rotorua.
It is the second fatal crash along that stretch of road today – a man died yesterday morning in a crash involving a car and campervan.
