8 Corrections Officers charged comparable to the attack and passing of Seremaia Naidole Momo, a serving detainee in 2019 have been conceded bail by the Suva Magistrates Court.

The 10 officials who were charged incorporate Joji Raqamate, Isei Rakaso, Pita Raikoso, Josefa Boletakibureta, Waisea Sadranu, Josefa Satini, Lemeki Koroi, Ledua Tikoigau, Nemani Vasuvulagi and Apisai Naqamu anyway it was uncovered in court that Lemeki Koroi has died while Ledua Tikoigau has left the country.

41-year-old Rakaso, 24-year-old Raikosi and 23-year-old Boletakibureta are accused of attack causing genuine substantial mischief for supposedly attacking Momo by punching him in the face, head and chest inside the restroom of the cell block at Naboro Minimum Corrections Center.

42-year-old Sadranu and 35-year-old Satini are independently accused of acts expected to cause shocking mischief for purportedly persistently punching Momo a few times inside the Chief Operations Office of the Naboro Minimum Corrections Center.

35-year-old Raqamate, Sadranu, Tikoigau, Rakaso, 28-year-old Vasuvulagi, Satini, Raikoso and 50-year-old Naiqamu are accused of acts planned to cause heinous damage for supposedly punching and kicking Momo a few times inside the Chief Operations Office of the Naboro Minimum Corrections Center.

Rakaso is additionally accused of complicity in the self destruction of another for supposedly advising Momo to commit suicide with a plastic wire inside the Solitary Block in Naboro Minimum Corrections Center.

The court was educated that Raqamate, Rakaso, Raikoso, Sadranu, Satini and Vasuvulagi have been suspended while Boletakibureta and Naqamu are not, at this point utilized by the Fiji Corrections Services.

The supposed episodes occurred on the twentieth of February in 2019.

The case has been moved to the Suva High Court and will be approached the sixth of April.
