No water or electricity on Kadavu Island

Updated: 6:58am – Villagers on Kadavu are still experiencing water problems following the devastation caused by Cyclone Keni.

Vunisea Secondary School Chaplain, Reverend Isaia Tuinuku, said the Vunisea Reservoir was badly damaged during the Cyclone.

Reverend Tuinuku said several houses had also been destroyed.

He said the government station, the government school and its library were also severely damaged.

Reverend Tuinuku said government officials were slowly visiting the islands.

He said communication networks on some islands are still down and power supply has also been disrupted as many power lines have fallen down.

The island was battered by strong winds and heavy rain after midday which lasted for several hours.
